Image capture, you may or may not know, is a part of OS X (I certainly didn't know about it!). For me its advantage over iPhoto is that it allows me to specify colour profile information on a file as it's imported. I don't think iPhoto does this. Portfolio is a third product and as such costs money, and it's probably overkill for anything but a pro with thousands of images. Nonethelss that was my choice, and I'm happy with it. Tom Burke
