Hi Jesse. We have a dozen or more of the original 500s at work, not one 
logic board failure, nor anything else for that matter. My wife had a 
rev B 500 for 2 years and no logic board failure. My daughter has had a 
14" 700 MHz for 18 months with no logic board failure.

Maybe we're just lucky.
