[P1] very weird thing with trackpad

yup and its annoying when it happens - BUT you don't have to reboot!
just sleep your iBook and then wake it up.
 From the keyboard,  option-command-eject and hold for a bit, wait til 
its soundly asleep then wake it up. Your normal cursor movement should 
be restored (at least under osx)..
