[P1] iPod fix

I have a LaCie FireWire pocket drive.  It is fine for backup
and storage.  

Would you explain what is the difference between that and
the iPod?  I have noted in the ads that the iPod is usually
used for music.  Does it come with some special features
that my pocket drive does not have?
