Love the iBook, but battery life seems kinda skimpy!

You've hit the nail on the head. Here's what you can do about it:

1. Sell the 512MB module and replace it with a *low-power* 512MB 
module. Costs more but seems to really make a difference.

2. Write or find an Applescript to turn off your airport card when not 
in use. REALLY makes a difference.
