> I spend hundreds of dollars on software. Some company thinks they can > then tell me what to do with MY software on MY computers? > Uh, no. > Even if they have the LEGAL right, the VAST majority of people will > never buy this. Not today, not ever. This is probably the way we all feel. But why do we feel only this way about software? Why aren't we expressing the same outrage about food, clothing, cars, etc. It seems to me we are all overwhelmed about how easy it is to copy a file and thus we assume that ease of copying means we should get it for free. Try walking into MacDonalds and saying "I've spent hundreds of dollars in here and now I want a free burger..." Odd that we might not think twice about spending tens of thousands of dollars each for two or more cars because we can't duplicate them but then get all bent out of shape because we can copy software so easily but our license says we can only use one copy. Maybe we just don't like the responsibility of being trusted. --- Watch George Bush spring into action on 9-11. <http://www.thememoryhole.org/911/bush-911.htm> JackRodgers at earthlink.net http://www.JackRodgers.com http://www.LobateLacScale.com
