At best they expressed genuine concern and of course, disbelief. The software guys after awhile were sure it had to be a hardware problem and the hardware guys, when I finally got to speak to one, assumed it was a software problem. I have this iBook plugged into a surge protector full time now but am sitting waiting for a problem, as in it's predecessor. It did freeze in at a website, read: fatal spinning beachball. I had to do a hard shutdown. I tried it again with no other apps open in the background and it froze again....guess maybe I just won't go there...unless, of course, a do-gooder out there wants to go off-list and walk through it with me to find the problem. I'm assuming poorly written code but could be software deficiency on my end? Any takers? Fran
