I made a copy of my safari folder in the user Libary then deleted the 
old Safari apply/folder. I probably should have searched and deleted 
all safari files to be safe but I forgot.

My install has worked without any problems and it did not overwrite my 
bookmarks files so the copy while comforting wasn't needed.
