Simple way of playing mp3s from CDRs ?

You probably need to adjust your iTunes preferences and tell it to NOT 
automatically import all songs when a CD is inserted. That should solve 
the problem right there.

A huge variety. I sometimes use Audion from panic.com, but I'm sure 
there are many that are even more compact.
