[P1] Classic still won't start

Just for the heck of it, pick something in the 9 System folder, like 
System or Finder or XXXEnabler and do a search for it just to make sure 
you have only one OS 9 system installed. Then do a get info to do a 
date and version on it and...

tadah....

Just for the super heck of it, check the version to make sure it is the 
correct version of OS 9 that you need to run under X, you may have to 
update. [whispering...and make sure you do have OS 9 installed and not 
an earlier system...end whispering]
