Well, if we want to talk cool statistics packages, SYSTAT came out with their "windows" interface for Mac in 1991. Unfortunately, SPSS bought out SYSTAT and never produced another Mac version. If you are feeling really geeky, go to a library and page thru the back of the Scientific American's and old MacUser and MacWorld magazines. All the old science packages came out for Mac first, with a better interface. Trying to stay on topic (cough), I would go with more RAM; if you are having problems entering data in the editor, I would hope it is simply a RAM problem.
