Just got my 466 SE iBook :-) It's cool!
But the battery lasted for only 45 mins :-(
I did the PMU reset and let the batt completely drain as suggested on
Apple's kbase and several user reports on the net (I had first tried to
charge the batt several times when it was almost drained).
After I got the warning that memory was low and that it would set itself
to sleep I tried to drain the battery completely by playing a streaming
QuickTime movie, and it lasted for over 40 mins with a darkened screen
(backlight off) before it actually went to a forced sleep, is that normal?
Anyway I closed the lid and connected the power adaper (which is not
really an iBook adapter, but from a PB G3, same 45W), I let it charge
for over 2 hours and after that the battery time is up to 2,5/ 3 hours!
Woohoo! Luckily I don't have to buy a new battery for 170 euros!
I can use that money now to buy a 512MB SO DIMM!
Just installed a spare 32MB from an iMac till I'll get that 512.
And I already have an Airport card, just need an ABS or any other WAP...
Oh yeah, one question about the 4.1.7 firmware update, Software Update
says that that has to be installed, any problems I should encounter and
what are the benefits if I install this update, OS X compatability
perhaps? Running 9.2.2 for now...
TIA,
Marc
BTW the IBM 10GB HD is a bit noisy, a bit of a whirring sound, do you
listers have that too?
