weird remote access behavior

On my 12" iBook (2001 model), suddenly Remote Access tries at regular
intervals (tho I haven't timed them, they're too damn frequent) to dial
out. I can't find any controlling factor that would tell it to do that. 
Help, please?
I'm running Netscape 4.x.
