Imagine that happening at CompUSA or Best Buy or Circuit City or any other retailer. A customer comes in wanting to buy something at the high end of the scale, the salesperson analyzes the customer's needs and talks the customer into a lower-priced item that adequately meets those needs and leaves a bit of extra money for software and/or accessory items.... No wonder Apple's always in trouble! They spend too much time thinking about the customer and not enough thinking of how to make gads and oodles of money! (Tongue firmly in cheek during rant.)
