The G4 series iBooks may well be in the middle of this range of >heat due to the processor. From the user-submitted results I'm seeing with ThermographX, the iBook G4 is just as hot internally as the 12" PowerBook G4 (temperatures peaking at around 150F). Whether this translates into as hot a user experience handling the case, I don't know. It may be that the metal case of the PowerBooks transfers heat more easily; My wife's 12" PowerBook does get warm after extended use but the fan does a great job of keeping it tolerable. The next version of ThermographX (1.1; in beta testing now) will have the consolidated user-submitted results built in. If you've got a new iBook G4, I'd love it if you could run ThermographX and submit your results to add to the data pool! <http://www.kezer.net/thermographx.html> Jeremy -- +-----------------------------------------------------------------+ jeremy at kezer.net http://www.kezer.net/ +-----------------------------------------------------------------+
