DiskWarrior deals with the directory only. It completely replaces the old directory with a brand new one that has all the corrected info in it in the correct places. For defragmentation of hard drive data files, there are only two apps that I personally know about. Speed Disk from Norton and Drive 10 from Micromat. I used SpeedDisk up to 9.2.2 and then I did not upgrade because of the amount of time it took for Norton to release the update and the fact that it had to be run from OS 9.2 on OS X drives. That felt like a recipe for disaster so I just waited until I got Drive 10. I have used it once since I got it and since I did not have a backup at that time, I took a chance and simply used the defrag option instead of the optimization which would have worked on the entire disk. I suffered no data loss and regained the empty space I needed in a contiguous block. Techtool Pro 4 will also have the optimization feature I believe.
