[P1] fixing power cord

Your best bet is probably to get a new one; even if you're able to make 
a temporary repair, it won't last forever. I had this happen to me (if 
I'm understanding you correctly), and I had to physically cut open the 
jack to be able to get enough wire to make a temporary connection, and 
even then it was tricky. (I only use it with the VST charger.)
