All Macintoshes ship with OS 9 installed but without a separate OS 9 CD. In
fact, they don't even ship with OS X CDs. My new 15 inch PowerBook came with
a single DVD that contains both the OS installer and the software restore.
True, most new Macs no longer boot into OS 9 but they can run OS 9 which
means that most OS 9 software continues to be usable and actually run quite
well.
