Hello again list! I volunteer at a local school to help with their system needs, 98.5% Mac, and to help fend off the "windoze" efforts. This problem has me a little stumped as it seems out of line price wise. All of the teachers have iBooks (600 12" if memory serves) with airport. The problem is one of the iBooks seems to have decided to spit out the CD drive tray, completely. Somehow the tray came completely out and of course damage was done. (Unknown circumstances involved.) When checking on repair we are told it would be upwards of $900. This is/was a combo drive. Do we have any other options for a parts source besides Apple? I easily replace parts on all of the desktop models from original Classics to iMacs and all kinds in between but the laptop is in constant use as well as parts are whole lot more packed in there. That really doesn't bother me as does the quotes we have gotten. I am hoping the list has some good, school friendly ideas I might be able to approach them with. TIA! Ken
