On my 2400 (8.6) I have an extension "Trackpad Climate Control". In Florida static is not a problem, but the 2400 is stationed in Munich now where the humidity is very low, and TCC works wonderfully. It got rid of the problem. But I guess that doesn't help much here. Even when it loads in Classic it wouldn't influence the behaviour of the trackpad in X, would it? I'll be happy to send it to anyone who'd like to try it though. -tobias.
