Windows media player installer won't install on ibook?

Hi Gang,
Has anyone else had experience with Windows media player refusing to 
install in 10.3.3? The icon acts like its opening, but nothing happens 
after that. No error message, nothing. I've tried downloading it more 
than once, and the same thing happened when I tried to install it in 
10.2.6 as well.
Clues? Experiential advice?
