copy protected cds

Hi all,

I have a data cd that's copy protected, and I want to make a backup of.
Specifically, I want to image it to my hard disk so that I don't have
to carry the cd around all the time.

I've tried a couple of things, including the disk utility, and doing
$> cp /dev/disk1s0 ./disc.bin
but it quits with errors.

I wonder if anyone knows of any software like cloneCD (for Win), which
allows the cdrom to ignore (deliberately introduced) bad sectors?

Any/all help appreciated,
Cheers,
-Angus
