[P1] How to prevent iBook 500 from dying (formerly [P1] Red brick, green brick)

Even though both adapters are 45w they actually use two different power 
adapter, so your old dual 500 adapter may not be compatible. check the 
Apple knowledge base they have a cross reference for adapters and 
different laptops.
