copying from 1 computer to another

I am in process of passing along my 12" ibook to my wife.
To do so I need to move/copy over her extensive Netscape and Mail files 
and identity and thousands of emails from her iMac.
So far I'm batting zero, tho I carefully copied over the contents of 
the Netscape and Mail folders in Users from her iMac.
And I set up the proper identities in both programs--still I'm not 
seeing the content.
What SHOULD I do?
