This is a "me, too!" post. I had a 700MHz G3 iBook, and the logic board went bad. Instead of repairing it (it was out of warranty and I didn't have AppleCare), I got a G4 iBook. I'm very happy with the G4 iBook, and every indication I have is that it's a well-built machine. Of course, I thought the same thing of my G3 iBook for a year and a half! So, like you said, it's too early to tell with the new iBooks, but my report is very favorable. - Mike W.
