I have the Altec Lansing AVS300 speakers - 3 pieces. I'm not sure they 
are still in production, but they are still for sale out there, for 
around $30 and less. Here's the Altec web site with specs:

I like mine because they not only sound good and the price was amazing, 
but the color matchs my white iBook. You can spend a lot more, but 
unless you have a trained ear, you might not notice the difference.
