Using iBook as a monitor

I don't want to take up a a lot of bandwidth on this one, but I guess a
little explanation is required.

When I went to Panther with my desktop B&W G3 with and SGI monitor
powered by a Number Nine card, the monitor - I should say the card - simply
would not work. Someone figured out how to fool Panther into recognizing
the card so that the SGI monitor could be used.

The problem is that it requires attaching _another_ monitor to a second
port on the same card. Panther then boots up on that second monitor, you
have to go into Terminal and run the "magic incantation" which fools (or so
I am told) Panther into recognizing the card and allowing you, when you
restart, to use that glorious, 17-inch, wide screen SGI monitor.

So, I have to keep a big CRT monitor handy for those odd times when I
have trouble rebooting and using the SGI monitor. It's happened once or
twice and each time the procedure explained above worked just fine.

If I attached my Dual-USB iBook to the Number Nine Card in the G3 is
there some way I could view Panther on the G3 on that screen?

I haven't a clue as to how to go about doing this.

    Many thanks,
    bob
