airport base station problem

I am having some trouble with my airport base station,
this is an older graphite station.

I seems to stop broadcasting intermittently, I have
tried restarting, changing channels even reloaded
firmware and reset to factory defaults.

Sometimes I just lose the connection  for no reason
then it comes back. I have tested my laptop on other
base stations at work etc. no problems so it is not my
iBook.

I haven't cracked it open yet to see if there is
anything noticeably wrong inside.

Any suggestions?
