I moved the Main Account folder for Entourage, a folder called My Documents which has subfolders for all my "stuff, " and the AOL Shared Folder which had my AOL screen name information. I also copied folders in my home directory such as Documents and Movies and Music. I also copied down all registration numbers for things like QuickTime Pro, etc. Don't copy program files. You'll overlook some needed files hidden somewhere. I re-installed Office X and then went online for the updates. Same for Final Cut Express. All I had to then was re-set some preferences in things like Safari and QuickTime and AppleWorks. My preferences had been transferred for Office X and AOL. The whole process - including figuring out what I needed to transfer - took about twenty minutes.
