Really? Hm, I hadn't noticed that.
Anyway, I'll venture that there's no *guarantee* that the two users will
have the same UID, so to be on the safe side... :-P

I always have more than one user ("normal" user, development user,
troubleshooting user, girlfriend user, ...), maybe that's why I ran into the
aforementioned problem.
