[P1] hand-me-down OS upgrades

then use his original install disks to install 10.2.8 on my machine?
Any reasons not to do this?

I used my original ibook install disks that contained 10.2 and updated my
10.1 system on my Imac.

Of course, since then, I have purchased Panther and upgraded both.

I would recommend considering Panther for both your systems, it is a great
update to an already great operating system.
