Macs have no limitations :-) I sure like mine in any case..... > 2) - What kinds of peripherals I can add (external floppy drive, CDRW, > harddrive, etc.)? Yes to all that you mention and more. You will have both firewire and usb ports so anything that can connect with either of those will work fine. > 3) - Can I connect the ibook 800mhz to my DSL connection at home? Yes, no problems here. I have a dsl connection that is shared through a router and a small hub in another location between 3 macs and 4 PC's. No problems on any of them except when everyone wants to download all at the same time, but normally it is all good. > 4) - Will OS 8.6 and OS 9.1 run on the ibook 800mhz? OS 8 NO, 9.2.2 Yes if you want it. My iBook and PowerBook have both 9.2.2 and OSX though I hardly ever need OS9 anymore. > 5) - Will I be able to use my peripherals with the ibook 800mhz? (ACOM > USB > 60GB external harddrive, SCSI devices -- LaCie SCSI 6x4x16x CDRW, and > several external SCSI harddrives, hpdeskjet 5150, USB Imation SuperDisk > drive, USB ZIP 100)? Yes with the right adapters. Belkin makes a USB to SCSI adaptor http://www.mozillaquest.com/Hardware/Belkin/Belkin-SCSI- USB_story01.html Anything that is USB should work without too much trouble > 6) - Are there any processor upgrades for the ibook 800mhz? NO, not that I am aware of Hope this helps _________________________________________________________________ Larry Zasitko 306-522-3453 Tel 190 Sangster Blvd., Regina, SK., Canada 306-791-0432 Fax S4R 7G9 l.zasitko at sasktel.net
