Graphite and VPC

A friend has a Graphite iBook with 320 megs of RAM running 9.2.

He needs to run the windoze version of Quickbooks 2004 Premiere with 
the manufacturing module (inventory etc.).

He's tried it with Virtual PC 4.0 and it's extremely slow - basically unusable.

The question is how to make this functional to save him from buying a 
Dell laptop?

I'm thinking that at least part of the problem may be the older 
version of VPC. Or is the Graphite processor just not up to snuff on 
this task?
