[iBook] Anybody tried/have thoughts on 1GB ram in an 800mhz G4 ibook?

Hi.  I recently acquired an 800mhz G4 ibook and Apple has it 
"officially" topping out at 640mb of ram.  However, I have read on at 
least one discussion board and have seen reputable ram dealers offering 
a special 1gb chip especially for this model.

Since I just got this machine I don't yet know too much about it, but I 
do know that the 256mb that it came with is only enough to run Panther, 
so I am definitely going to upgrade.  I just don't know if I should 
upgrade to 640 when I could put that money towards 1gb.  Any 
experience, thoughts, suggestions?
