[ibook] Airport works while lid closed?

After troubleshooting battery problems on my iBook, I asked technical
support about this. They said that even though the network connection is
disabled during sleep that the airport card draws power unless you turn it
off. In other words, you will not be vulnerable to transmissions, but it
will drain your battery if you do not turn it off from the menu bar.
