[iBook] no color on screen

Does anyone know how to return color to an ibook?  A
student pressed (fn ctrl alt 8) and the screen will no
longer show color after login.  It is the weirdest
thing because it doesn't happen until after login. 
Any suggestions?  Universal access under system
preferences is not available without admin priviledges
which I don't have (I'm locked out).  Thanks in
advance.
