[iBook] Trackpad/cursor problems w/ Safari (OT?)

This might be off topic, but when I put the cursor over a button in 
Safari, the button doesn't always work. I have to hit a modifier key 
(or I can actually drag the window a little to left) and then I can 
click on the button. This problem happens with both my and my 
daughter's iBooks.

This problem doesn't seem to happen with Firefox, to which I've just 
switched. I'm come back to Safari if I could make it work properly.

Has anyone else had this problem, and/or know what I can do about it?
