Yes, I know this is off-topic for this list, but I'm not on any general Mac lists and I think I've seen at least a couple of the members of this list mention owning Duos at some point. I have a Duo 230 and a Duo Dock II, but no original boxes, as I got them off ebay. I'd been thinking about getting rid of them, but now my husband wants us to keep them (he says it's because the Duo would make a good basic word processor; truth is, I think he is fundamentally unable to get rid of any tech gear). We anticipate moving soon, so I'm pre-packing stuff we seldom use, and I've just tailored (carved up) the styrofoam in an old scanner box--the sturdy kind with a handle--so the Dock fits beautifully. My question: would it be safe to leave the Duo inserted into the Dock while packed? I've removed the defunct battery from the Duo (someday I need to find a source and replace it) and covered the hole with plastic to keep dust out. I think that the fit of the Duo-in-Dock in the styrofoam packing blocks would be sufficiently good to keep the Duo snuggly engaged with the Dock. Anyone see any reason *not* to do this? I've googled around, trying to see if anyone has packing tips for Duo Docks, but didn't see any.
