[iBook] Tiger on G3: what's the deal?

Hi all,

When I upgraded from Jaguar to Panther, my little G3 600mhz computer
really appreciated it.  It was snappier in many ways, and I was happy
to have done the upgrade.  This followed with my experience with
Linux, and in contrast to any Windows experience where every WinOS
upgrade required a big outlay in hardware upgrades too (Longhorn to
require a 3+Ghz CPU and at least 1Gb RAM??).

My question is for those who may have an advance copy of Tiger or have
heard of others' experience:  will this upgrade be a real upgrade for
my iBook, or should I stick with Panther until I can buy a new system?
