[iBook] Second Hand Mac woes

Sorry, maybe I am not clear.

The hard drive boots fine. When I got it, it booted into 9 then using 
startup control panel I chose OSX 10.0. and rebooted. Because I was 
confronted with a login window and I don't know the password I can only 
choose restart or shutdown.

Without access to the startup control panel; is there a way to restart 
the ibook into os9?
