Jean-Paul,

Because of several Apple motherboard and HD problems in various (carefully
treated) Powerbooks I'd go with the one with warranty, the iBook.

If the Powerbook had warranty left (and only then could you buy AppleCare!)
I'd go with the Powerbook, for sure. You may check if there is another
insurance that covers everything incl. HD and motherboard. That would tip
the scale in favour of the Powerbook too.
