[iBook] Unable to install

Hello listers,

I have been unable to install some teaching materials
on my ibook (G3 900 14" dual usb).  I get an "Error
creating file. 1008:5,-5000 Access denied error" and
the message "You do not have enough access privileges
for this installation."  I have what are probably user
rights on this (my work) machine.  Any help would be
appreciated.
