[iBook] Performance improvement with 7200rpm hard drive

Hi list,

I'm thinking of having someone upgrade my iBook (12" 1.33GHz summer 2005 model) with a 7200rpm hard drive to replace the 4200rpm stock drive.

Has anyone else done this and what do you think of the performance improvement? Do you really feel a difference?

My main beef right now with my iBook is that it takes a little long to boot up and be useable. Launching a programs is also a little slow.

My alternative is to get a 12" 1.5GHz Powerbook (Apple refurb) but that's about 3-4x the price of a hard disk upgrade :-)
