    Can't help you regarding the HD, but I would say upgrade the RAM. My
first Mac was a 300 MHz clamshell with a 6 gig HD and 64 meg RAM. I upgraded
the RAM to a maximum of 320 and was able to run Jaguar very successfully on
it. (It will run Panther but the small HD is the problem there.)
    More RAM will also allow iTunes to run better.
