[iBook] ibook recharge?

Hi

I had the power circuit replaced with a pulled one and the battery 
doesn't loose its charge but it still won't take a mains power feed in 
or charge it at all.

Anyone have a similiar problem and what was the fix?

I have two friends with same model ibook - dual usb ice - and ones 
moving and the 2nd has had theirs go bang.

So no way to charge it now. I did spot online a few models of dual 
battery chargers but they're 140-ish$

Suggestions?
