[iBook] How far can I go into 10.x?

No sorry, Apple in their wisdom have begun making their installers  
(the ones winblows users call OEM installers) only good for the model  
of Mac they were shipped with.
You can however buy "retail" versions of the same (Mac OS 10.4) which  
will install to any Mac.
