Hello, I have an iBook G3/900 that I need to boot into OS9 because I have some legacy apps that won't run in Classic. I have an OS 9.2.2 CD that will boot this computer and I did install OS 9.2.2, but there is a problem with the display. The problem is that early in the boot process (even before extensions load) the displayed video image shrinks down significantly (800 X 600 unstretched on the 1024 X 768 native LCD). This happens even when booted with extensions off. I reset the PMU by powering off and then holding down shft-cntl-opt-pwr for 5 sec, cleared NVRAM via OF commands reset-nvram, set-defaults, and reset-all, then zapped PRAM after that, but I still get a shrunken screen. By the way, the iBook G3/900 does display video properly when booted into OS X. The iBook G3/900 was the last iBook that would boot into OS9, and Apple tells me it has its own specific version of OS9 that is only available via the Software Restore CDs that came with the iBook G3/900. I bought the iBook G3/900 used and it didn't come with Software Restore CDs so I tried Software Restore CDs from an iBook G4 that replaced the iBook G3/900. I had to snag the "OS9General.dmg" image out of the /.images "hidden" folder and mount that to get that version of OS 9.2.2 since "Software Restore" will only launch on the computer the discs came with. The iBook G3/900 will boot the version of OS 9.2.2 from the iBook G4, but I get the exact same shrunken screen. I again reset the PMU, cleared NVRAM via OF, and zapped PRAM on top of that, all to no avail. Does anybody have the Software Restore CDs for an iBook G3/900, know somebody who does, or know where else I might try? I'm really just after the OS9 disk image within the /.images folder on (probably) the first CD (there are 3 Software Restore CDs for the iBook G3/900). Regards, Kelly Cherrey
