Wrong. A dual core processor is NOT the same as: 1) a machine with two single processors, or 2) a machine that is twice as fast with a single processor. The crystal on the motherboard will still run at 1.83 GHz and the dual cores still share many of the other hardware and functions. It is true that a machine with a 1.83 GHz dual core processor COULD run SOME functions even faster than a 3.66 GHz single processor machine, but it depends on the function and the OS and how it is optimized for parallel processing. For the most part, with today's technology, the dual core processors help but don't double the effective performance of a machine. It's two 1.83 chips on the same silicon. It's twice as fast. And since the nano meter technology being what it is, I would say it's faster than a 3.66 J
