If that's on the label under the keyboard the you are correct in that it is a CD-ROM only. There were educational model that were CD only. You can confirm this in About this Mac; More Info; ATA; then click on the drive for more info. Or...stick a movie in and see if it plays or spits the disk out. As for getting install CDs from Apple after purchasing a retail version of Tiger, Apple discontinued that option. Two options you can try: 1) Connect an external FireWire DVD drive (USB won't work) and install from that. 2) Start the iBook in Target-Disk-Mode and connect it to another Mac (with DVD) via FireWire, then you can run the Tiger install on that Mac. Be sure to select the iBook hard drive as the recipient during the install setup. -Mark On Oct 30, 2007, at 5:42 AM, Ken Walker wrote: > Mary,All, > Sorry-I gave the wrong specs. > I belive the model is A1054 > G4 1064mhz/256mb solderd on+512mb in slot /30gb/cd/ap > someone thought that it was an educational model. > thanx, > ken > > -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
