Thanks, Bill. I'll check that out. I checked out the power cord and it seems to be ok. There's a laptop specialist at freegeek here in Vancouver who's going to take a look at it for me tomorrow. I questioned him on it and told him my symptoms and he seemed to thing that the hard drive could be the problem. I'll let you know what he says, and thanks for the website. I'll take a look.
